Detecting cervical cancer

One of the best ways to detect cervical cancer is to undergo / regular routine cervical cancer screening test. The cervical cancer screening test (smear test) is one of the best ways to catch cervical cancer at an early stage. This test is not painful at all and only removes cells from your cervix for microscopic examination. Pap test results are generally given as a rating on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 indicates the cells of the cervix are normal and 5 showed signs of a serious cancer. Although medical research continues to try to invent new ways and better for detecting cervical cancer, the Pap test is the best technique that we have today for the early detection of cervical cancer. However, pap tests are not always accurate, and it is possible if other symptoms of cervical cancer is still there, then the second round of cervical tests might be highly recommended by doctors.

Treatment of cervical cancer

Effective treatment of cervical cancer, especially when cervical cancer is detected while still in its early stages. Treatment involves surgical procedures (including removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries), chemotherapy and radiation. The earlier you can detect cervical cancer, the better your chances of a cure. In fact, even pap test can detect pre-cancerous stage and hence make more effective treatment of cervical cancer.
